Classic Game Room HD reviews DARKEST OF DAYS for Xbox 360 where you fight your way through history in this very interesting and bizarre first person shooter! Ever wanted to tear through the American Civil War with a futuristic machine gun, or run through the trenches in WW1 with superballs that save people from being wiped out of time??? Well, if you can take the technical glitches and jerky gameplay then you may really dig Darkest of Days for Xbox 360. This CGR review of Darkest of Days has gameplay from this science fiction / historical shooter where you engage in combat during the Civil War, WW1, WW2 and more. Antique weapons and sci fi artillery are at your disposal, but not all at once. Darkest of Days may just be the weirdest FPS you’ll ever play with a lengthy storyline and odd animation scenes. It’s not for everyone, but for those who enjoyed the Highlander TV show or Quantum Leap it may be right up your alley.

Classic Game Room HD reviews CALL OF DUTY 4 MODERN WARFARE for PS3, also on Xbox 360. COD4 Modern Warfare is one of the most popular video games ever created and for good reason, you get a lot of game with this game! An awesome fantasty based James Bond adventure-style single player campaign where you have to stop a group of tyrants from destroying the world. COD 4 has an amazing ortment of modern weapons including the MP5 and Javelin. The frantic battle scenes and attention to detail that are in COD2 and 3 are back with a suitable amount of ferocity and overall gameplay is superb. This CGR review of Call of Duty 4 has gameplay from COD4 showing the game play during this video game review of COD 4 Modern Warfare, developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Being that this is one of the most popular games ever made means that there are millions of people playing multiplayer deathmatch, team death match and other games online. PS3 Playstation Network performance was smooth and free of lag or complications. The XBLA Xbox 360 version is supposed to be well done too (we didn’t check that version though). The COD4 Game of the Year Edition also has a fun arcade mode where you can play through missions in the game to earn arcade-style points and rack up a huge multiplyer by playing well and wasting bad guys. Good times packed into one COD4 game disc here, good times… It’s just too bad it’s not on the Vectrex.

Classic Game Room HD reviews RISE OF FLIGHT the First Great Air War for PC. This WW1 World War 1 flight simulator is one heck of a game chaps. Drop seven pillars of whoop on enemies with World War 1 airplanes like the Spad and Niuport 17! Fly WWI missions with a variety of planes and machine gun observation balloons, other pilots and everything that you can see. The scars of trench warfare are below you as you fly over no-man’s-land and bomb cannons. Visually stunning with an enormous amount of detail, Rise of Flight will be a dream come true for many flight game enthusiasts. With all of the “easy buttons” turned off the game is a flight simulator where your plane is batted around in the wind like a paper airplane. You can adjust difficulty and tweak the physics to make it more arcade-style, which is what I did. Gameplay is relatively smooth, sounds great and packs an enormous sense of scale and realism. This CGR review of Rise of Flight has gameplay from Rise of Flight showing airplane combat from World War 1 in this WW1 flight simulator action video game for your computer! Works with flight stick or keyboard (use a flight stick). You can turn your guy’s head around and look out the plane with the mouse. Outstanding graphics and details in the pit, could have used more monsters though.

Classic Game Room HD reviews GEARS OF WAR 2 for Xbox 360. This sequel to the original Gears of War has more of a fantasy adventure feel than the first one, a Jason and the Argonauts meets Inner Space crossed with The Empire Strikes Back with Gears of War gameplay. It’s darned fun (if burnin’ people with mungheads and cutting them in half is your thing)! Marcus Fenix and crew take on the enemy horde once again with machine guns, chainsaws, mortars, miniguns and more. Slaughter the grubs without mercy and save your people from extinction. This CGRHD review of Gears of War 2 has gameplay from GOW2 showing game play in action on Xbox 360. Gears of War 2 has multiplayer map packs available for download as well, CGR reviews that in a separate review. Good times, good friends and lots of enemies to mangle with heavy artillery. Duck, cover, aim and shoot…. it’s GEARS OF WAR 2.

Play your buddies or complete strangers in new multiplayer maps which are seeping with details and places to hide. COD WAW has hours and days of gameplay by itself, with the addition of these well made downloadable multiplayer map packs and additional zombie content it gets even better. Classic Game Room HD reviews CALL OF DUTY 2 for Xbox 360 (also on PC). Call of Duty 2 is developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, it takes place during World War 2 and features several characters from the allied perspective. You play as a Russian, British soldier and American and fight wave after wave of Nazis in dozens of intense battles across the globe. Massive in size and scope, COD2 has an immense single player campaign that is both challenging and exhilerating with constant, non stop gunfights and some vehicle levels. Duke it out across deserts, wrecked cities and through France during the D-Day operation, this early release for the Xbox 360 was a pretty heavy hitter as far as first person shooters go. Extremely affordable today and overshadowed by its younger sibling, COD4 Modern Warfare, Call of Duty 2 should not be overlooked by fans of action games, FPS shooters and WW2 video game enthusiasts. This CGRHD review of Call of Duty 2 has gameplay footage from COD2 showing game play during this World War II video game where the din of battle rarely dies down.

Classic Game Room HD reviews AGE OF PIRATES 2 CITY OF ABANDONED SHIPS for PC. I’m on a pirate ship! Woo hoo! Take control of boats in this seafaring RPG adventure style game where you can do good or terrorize the seas without mercy. Age of Pirates 2 gameplay shows naval combat, swordfighting and prostitution. The 1600’s were awesome! The boats can be repaired with money earned trading or pirating. Equip cannons and various ammunition types to blow enemy frigates to bits. Sail through storms and hire a crew. Age of Pirates 2 is a somewhat slow paced game compared to most action and arcade titles reviewed here, but it may appeal to fans of naval adventure games and RPG titles. It has a quirky humor and style that gets a few laughs in the gameplay. This CGRHD review of Age of Pirates 2 shows gameplay of game play in action for this PC video game reviewed.
